Step 2
Registration and assessment
Someone from My Aged Care or the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will contact you to discuss your needs and recommend services that will work best for you. They will explain how to apply, and how eligibility is assessed.
This may include a phone screening, face-to-face assessment, planning meeting, or collection of evidence related to your support needs. For peace of mind, you may wish to have a family member or friend with you throughout this process.
Sometimes, My Aged Care or the NDIA may send a representative to meet with you, or contact you, on their behalf. These representatives are called early childhood or local area coordination (LAC) partners. Dependent on your location, you may be contacted by one of the following partners:
- Kudos Services
- Feros Care
- Baptcare
- Mission Australia
If you need further information or assistance with the application process, you can let your My Aged Care or NDIA representative know.
You can also contact advocacy services such as the Older Persons Advocacy Network or Disability Advocacy Network if you would like information about your rights.
